In the ESC newsletter No. 3, (published sometime in 1992) the editor (Andy Motes) included a list of members. There were 24 of them: John Gallant, Dave Frees, Steve Estvanik, Bert Fischer, Joey Robichaux, Orlando Dare, Eddie Bond, Lauren Gascoigne, Richard Hart, Garrett Krueger, Andrew Motes, Jinny Husty, Karen Crowther, Donna Blevins, Tim Sweeney, Tim Bandy, Mark Haney, Jerry Olson, Alan Elliott, Bell Dedes, Jim Green, Gary Alston, Bob Ostrander, Richard Goulet. By August 1993 ESC had 52 members. Among those who are still members today are Dick Bryant, Richard Hart, Anthony Saliba, Andy Motes, Tom Guthery, William Letendre, and Rosemary West. Tom and Richard are on the Board of Directors, and Richard is the Treasurer. Rosemary is a past President and current webmaster. Anthony and Andy are Lifetime Members. Mike Callahan: Jerry Olson used to write articles for Shareware Magazine when I was the Editor-in-Chief. Tim Sweeney was the head of what was then called EPIC MegaGames -- now Epic Games -- the creators of UnReal Tournament. Sadly, Jim Green died a few years ago and received the Shareware Industry Award for Lifetime Achievement posthumously. Rosemary West: Karen Crowther did very well with her software business and is now Karen Chun, living with her husband and children on Maui. Andy Motes sold his educational software and is now working for a big company in New Mexico. Bob Ostrander is still around in some capacity -- I see him from time to time at a conference. Tom Guthery: And at the Columbus Schmoozes - sometimes with a potato gun. Rosemary West: Jim Green was one of the first and the few who paid authors for disks sold on racks. My Bible Challenge was one of the programs he sold in book stores. He was also very supportive of our efforts to get our voices heard at the Senate hearings on ratings, back around 1994. Rich Holler: And in addition to everything everyone else has said, Jim was just a darned nice guy!
